Value Engineering Solution
  • PT slab construction with preformed wall elements.
  • Cores modelling in 3D to resolve unbalanced retaining forces.
  • AFS walls were used, spanning to columns as deep beams to negate suspended slabs transferring floor loads over.
Unique Design Items
  • Restricted floor to floor heights resulted in minimal slab thickness to maximise ceiling heights.
  • Masonry façade involved complex support details to building perimeter.

The Richmond Quarter development comprises of three residential towers ranging in height from six to nine storeys, basement car parking and commercial suites at podium level are also included.

Pritchard Francis was engaged to carry out the civil and structural consultancy services for the project. The post tension slabs allowed ceiling heights within apartments to be maximised.

The significant unbalanced retaining levels and presence of limestone in the ground provided challenges early in the design.

Close liaison with the client ensured an economical solution was achieved.
