The City of Perth commissioned this three storey residential structure and an adjacent three storey car park located on Goderich Street, East Perth as an Affordable Housing Solution for inner city key workers.
This concrete and load bearing masonry residential structure is designed to achieve a 4 Star Green Star – As Built rating. The carpark utilises reinforced tapered concrete slab, designed for the inclusion of water proofing cement additives.
The project also required careful consideration of the surrounding sites, including a sewer extension through a congested verge at depth, and the requirement to vibration isolate the wall structure to the west end of the apartments.
Diversion of a local authority stormwater system to manage a 1 in 100 year rainfall event considering an adjacent structure, property access and surcharging of Water Corporation sewer were undertaken to meet local authority and Water Corporation requirements.
