Shenton Park Hospital Site (Montario Quarter)
Land Development
- Use of recycled building rubble under roads so material did not have to be taken off site.
- Working with existing heritage listed buildings and significant vegetation.
- Designing service relocation to least impact these items.
Pritchard Francis has been engaged for civil engineering consultancy services as well as superintendence for this project. On behalf of DevelopmentWA, Pritchard Francis acted as lead consultant to document and administer demolition of the existing hospital and site remediation including asbestos and environmentally impacted material. The Pritchard Francis team was responsible for design of demolition of hospital buildings, remediation of contaminated portions of the site and detailed civil design for the development.
Phase 2 of the project included the subdivision of the site to accommodate 60 lots ranging from commercial, multi-residential and single residential titles. Works included a major intersection upgrade to Selby/Nash Street and all supporting infrastructure.
This brownfield development has a number of interesting elements, including dealing with existing site contamination issues, existing heritage features and existing infrastructure, as well as maintaining existing site vegetation.
