Scotch College Underpass
Civil Infrastructure
- Modification of services to allow shallow underpass, reducing footprint, depth and cost.
The underpass was included as part of the Scotch College Middle School redevelopment to interconnect campuses and provide safe, unimpeded access across Shenton Road.
The underpass structure comprises a series of custom coloured and finished precast reinforced concrete long span culverts that were designed to MRWA standards and coastal requirements. Headwalls and panels were up to 4m tall. It was constructed adjacent to existing homes and an adjacent construction site.
Pritchard Francis was lead consultant on the underpass, integrating civil and structural requirements of the project with architectural, electrical and landscaping. Pritchard Francis completed the design, specification, contract administration and extensive site superintendence for the works. The project was completed in a safe and timely manner.
