This aquatic and leisure centre in Geraldton was undertaken under a design and construct contract. The complex incorporated multipurpose, hydrotherapy and leisure pools, together with the associated administration facilities, kiosk and change rooms. The brief called for clear open spans in the main pool hall along with a thorough and detailed specification and on site control of material protection.

Due to the nature of the contract, it was essential that economic design and ’buildability’ be reflected in the construction cost.  Pritchard Francis was able to instil key design issues into the project at a very early stage of design development to ensure that these issues resulted in lower costs. For speed of construction and cost issues, concrete tilt panels were utilised for many of the walls.
