The timber boardwalk provides an elevated pedestrian link through the coastal sand dunes between City Beach and Floreat Beach, two of the premier beaches for Perth, WA.

The project was developed in close liaison with stakeholder groups and local statutory bodies, with stringent environmental controls and conditions required to be met.

The design utilised recycled timber power poles set in bored holes as columns, with salvaged recycled timber on steel framing as decking panels.  Holes for columns were bored using mini digger machinery whilst decking panels were prefabricated off site and craned into position from each end of the boardwalk to provide absolute minimal disturbance to the existing dunes and flora.

All timber utilised for the works was salvaged jarrah timber, left in its natural state with minimal treatment only against termite and fungal attack.
