Value Engineering Solution
  • Intensive liaison and coordination with client for location and layout of specialised process equipment footings and foundations.
Unique Design Items
  • Stringent acoustic requirements for the machine house to prevent noise breakout.
  • Large footings and bases to support specialised equipment. Some containing 80mm diameter holding down bolts 2m long.

Located in Kwinana, the new BOC gases air separation unit replaced the existing out of date plant.

Through a process of compression, pre-cooling, drying and refrigeration down to temperatures of -196 degrees Celsius, the new plant produces pure oxygen, nitrogen and liquid argon.

In conjunction with BOC, Pritchard Francis provided design and documentation for the plant layout including the roadworks, weighbridge, machine house, footings and foundations for all process equipment and storage tanks plus extensive pipe rack design.

Extremely tight tolerances needed to be achieved and maintained for all footing and foundation design to suit process equipment manufactured and supplied from Europe and Asia.
