The Murdoch University Eastern Precinct (MUEP) is a mixed use urban development proposed for the eastern part of the Murdoch University campus, in Murdoch. It occupies approximately 44ha and forms a major part of the greater Murdoch Activity Centre structure plan, being one of the State’s priority Special Activity Precincts.

The development envisages to harness the strategic location of the site to facilitate construction of approximately 400,000m2 of floor area focusing on research and development, mixed use, residential and academic uses, with strong links to the St John of God and Fiona Stanley health precincts, Murdoch Train Station and existing University core.

Pritchard Francis was engaged as civil engineering consultant for the Master Planning phase of this development, and in addition to the civil consulting was responsible for coordination of power, communications, security, mechanical and hydraulic services. There was also significant collaboration with environmental and sustainability consultants involved. The precinct is expected to be developed in approximately 7 stages over the next twenty to thirty years and will transform the University into a key activity centre within Perth City.
