Value Engineering Solution
  • A savings of nearly 11T of structural steel was achieved from the footbridge main framing.

The location of the Greenwood Railway Station site made this a challenging project. The railway station is located in a confined area bounded by the north and south carriageways of the Mitchell Freeway and the operating train transit system.

Pritchard Francis was commissioned to undertake the redesign services and site supervision of the original structure designed by others.

Greenwood Railway Station and the associated pedestrian bridge was re-engineered by Pritchard Francis to achieve a saving of some 11T of structural steel with no diminution of the original architectural design.

Other engineering efficiencies in the foundations, platform construction and general works were accomplished through consultation with the contractors and the new architect.
