Katherine Town Council Bridge & Culvert Inspections

Pritchard Francis was engaged by Katherine Town Council to carry out condition assessment inspections of 12 culverts/causeways on various roads and bridges located within approximately 20km of Katherine. These were constructed in the 70’s/80’s and had never been previously inspected.

Level 1 inspections were carried out over a period of two days, with further Level 2 inspections recommended in order to provide greater level of detail for Katherine Town Council in maintaining their assets (i.e. crack mapping and higher level of detail around various defects etc).

Culvert types included;

• Reinforced concrete box culverts.
• Reinforced concrete pipe culverts.
• Corrugated metal pipe culverts.
