- Designed to meet stringent cyclonic and 1:1000 year events as determined by the Client.
As part of BHP’s RPG5 project involving the duplication of the rail link between Newman and Port Hedland, the Cowra Construction Camp was built to accommodate 400 construction workers for the rail project.
Pritchard Francis developed and documented the architectural layout, civil design and the design of the cyclone rated tie-downs and foundations for the prefabricated, transportable buildings.
The key issues relating to this project included the remote Pilbara location of the site, the challenging conditions of the site including the existing slope of the site and rock foundations, the high rainfalls experienced in the region and the coordination of information from other consultants, the transportable building manufacturer’s and the construction team on site.
