Karrinyup Shopping Centre Redevelopment

The Karrinyup Shopping Centre expansion is the largest commercial construction project underway in Western Australia at the present time. Pritchard Francis have been engaged for structural and civil works at the major redevelopment which sees an increase of floor space to over 109,000 square metres, spanning over a number of years and stages.

The Pritchard Francis team worked closely with the consultant team and lead contractor Multiplex to deliver innovative and efficient design solutions to complex challenges. This required creative thinking and detailed analysis to provide large column free spaces throughout the centre, design complex connection points between the new and existing structure and minimise the materials required by providing efficient slab designs and joint layouts.

Extensive modifications of the road layout were also required, including the addition of bus lanes to Karrinyup Road, required to manage the projected increased traffic volumes.
