The Broome Senior High School project consists of an Arts Centre including Auditorium, Year 7 Block and extensive refurbishment to an existing teaching block. Structural design took into account collapsible Pindan soils and cyclonic wind loading, while the civil design dealt with the challenging drainage constraints of the site and existing services on the site including fibre optic cables.

The modifications to the existing building transformed an existing Art and Craft and Performing Arts Studios into general purpose classrooms and required the removal of load bearing columns and brickwork and retrofitting new steel trusses. The existing roof sheeting was also replaced with the modifications significantly extending the remaining economic life of the existing building.
