The Riverside Development was a staged redevelopment of an existing Aged Care facility.

The initial west wing building comprised of a basement car park, with four levels of self-contained independent living apartments. An expansive landscaped roof deck allows views over the Swan River while enjoying alfresco facilities.

A combination of band beams, column capitals and flat plate suspended slabs were designed ensuring the most efficient construction approach was adopted for the complex ground floor transfer slab.

The Residential care facility is a 110 bed building over two storeys. Our design approach utilised traditional domestic construction techniques ensuring an efficient and cost effective structure.

A community centre provides heated swimming pool, dining room, gymnasium, function and communal spaces. These facilities are directly linked to the west wing by a suspended concrete pedestrian bridge.

The projects location close to the Swan River meant issues of durability and maintenance minimization were primary considerations in our design and documentation of the project.

Pritchard Francis completed all civil and structural engineering services on the project.
