This existing aged care facility caters for aged independent living accommodation. New works comprised of five villa units, 20 stacked housing units, 20 row housing units and a community centre.

Pritchard Francis executed the civil and structural engineering and site inspection services under a design and construct contract.

The project was completed in stages and works took into account that residents remained living onsite during construction.

Earthworks on the site involved the removal of limestone pinnacles and very soft pockets of sand consistent with a Tamala limestone site.

Traditional domestic construction techniques were utilised throughout the project. This approach ensured a quick and economical build.

Large elevation changes across the site provided the opportunity for stacked units with garage access at front and rear levels. Storm water collection utilised traditional soak wells with care taken to avoid trapped low points.
